Haley Grimes-Stiroh

MA, NBCC, LAC/LPCA- Virtual Therapy NJ/CT

I'm Haley Grimes-Stiroh, an LAC and founder of Typical Trendz.
As a clinician providing therapy through established private practices, I support individuals navigating body image, self-esteem, anxiety, trauma, and life transitions. I am passionate about helping people feel at home in both their minds and their bodies. As a therapist, my mission is to provide therapy services that are easily accessible, and that help to encourage, support, and motivate my clients to invest, trust, and find self-love in being authentically and proudly themselves.

I feel privileged to be able to work with clients and connect with others about something so important. I believe our mental health should always be a priority to each of us, and that talking about it can help each other realize we aren't alone in our struggles.

Through my work, I hope to continue to show how being kind to others and ourselves can truly make the world a better place, and how important conversations around mental health are.
Thank you for considering me to be part of your mental health journey.

Let's make conversations more typical to have, together.

The Psychology of Dress

x

Typical Trendz was born from my passion to understand why the way we decide to dress ourselves each day holds so much power. Dress is much more than the things we put on our bodies; it encompasses how we express what we feel internally, externally.  It can represent our identity, moods, sense of belonging, confidence, and sometimes our insecurities. Fashion trends can inspire creativity, but they can also fuel comparison, body dissatisfaction, and unrealistic standards for anyone.

(because we all get dressed)

Through my own journey of finding how I wanted to express myself, I noticed how I was using dress as a way to both showcase my attributes as well as hide my insecurities. It was the difference between styled vs. messy/slept on hair, makeup or no makeup, oversized everything or something a bit more fitting, and my "mood" matched.

I began to see how deeply clothing and psychology intertwine, and how together they influence our self-image, body dysmorphia, eating disorders, and overall mental health.

My goal is to continue to create a place where regardless of your reason for being here, you feel better for it. Whether it's through therapy sessions, shopping my designs, listening to my podcast episodes or seeing my posts on social media, I hope you take something away from crossing paths with me, and I am so happy to have you here.
